(Each life takes its path, unique and wide, Yet many faiths in idols still confide. Through trials and storms, truth is made plain—To follow Christ, we must remain.)

(EN ver. inside)

  • 无神论虽未写入宪法,但却在各种路线方针政策中处处体现,信仰被当作落后与非理性的表现,甚至被映射为封建迷信;
  • 教会被纳入“爱国体系”,宗教活动需接受“组织”监管,逐渐失去在社会事件中的活动自由;

  • 解释人从哪里来,要往哪里去;
  • 帮助人在苦难与死亡面前保持尊严;

  • 人将不再惧怕权威,不再唯上是从,不再‘少数服从多数’,不再‘舍小家为大家’,不再为集体利益而牺牲‘个人利益’;
  • 人将开始反思体制的不公,寻找更高层次的意义与生活方式;

  • 人心渴望真实,不愿活在体制的谎言中;
  • 灵魂不愿为奴,不肯继续做工具人;

Guarding the Light Within in a Fractured World

Today in China, more and more industries and ideals are being “laid bare”—diamonds exposed as mere marketing ploys, tea reduced to a pawn in capital game, the glamour of entertainment revealed as nothing but a show of inflated metrics and false veneers. Once the halo is stripped away, people awaken to the truth: what they long believed to be symbols of beauty were carefully packaged illusions.

Religious faith now faces the same challenge: must it also shed its political and institutional reins so that we might breathe freely once more? Asking this question with courage is itself proof that our hearts are aflame with a yearning for authenticity.

I. Why Has “Religious Faith” Become Synonymous with “Superstition”?

This shift did not happen by chance, but through decades of deliberate messaging and educational shaping. In today’s discourse:

  • Atheism may not be written into the constitution, yet it is woven into policies at every level—faith is cast as backward, irrational, even “feudal superstition.”
  • Churches have been absorbed into the Patriotic Religious System,” their activities regulated by official bodies and increasingly barred from engaging social issues.
  • Spiritually rooted, revelatory faith is marginalized and stigmatized, reduced to folk fairs, empty rituals, or government-sanctioned “religious culture displays.”

As we see on social media, once-venerated industries are being unmasked. Yet the halo long shrouding religious faith is not radiant packaging but a dark veil—one that distorts rather than uplifts.

Moreover, many Christian leaders have immersed themselves in academic theology so detached from the common person that their lofty jargon obscures rather than communicates the Gospel. Their disciples must puzzle over hidden meanings, defeating the very purpose of spreading truth.

II. The Essence of Faith: Awakening to Freedom and Dignity

Every genuine faith—whether Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, non-extremist Islam, or even ancient indigenous traditions—originated to:

  • Explain our origin and destiny;
  • Uphold human dignity amid suffering and death;
  • Restore meaning in the face of oppression, poverty, and grief.

As the Bible records, Jesus Himself never spoke for the powerful but declared,

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor;
He has sent Me to proclaim freedom to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind,
To set at liberty those who are oppressed.”
— Luke 4:18 (NKJV)

This message terrifies every earthly regime: a spiritually awakened person resists control, rejects lies, and refuses to surrender the freedom of the soul.

Religion emerged as an independent sphere outside political power—an alternative path to freedom and dignity. Every doctrine reflected humanity’s quest to break political shackles. Yet rulers wielding the sword pressed religion into the shadows, forcing true believers to adopt gentle faces and wait for the right moment to reemerge, alert and ready for transformation.

Remember: faith is suppressed not because it is harmless but because it awakens life at its most authentic.

III. Doctrinal Disputes Conceal a Common Quest for True Freedom

On the surface, theological debates—over the Trinity, moral laws, or variant Bible translations—appear divisive. In reality, they all serve a deeper purpose: helping us overcome fear, illusion, and self-centeredness, and return to genuine life.

Just as overhyped products reveal pure value once debunked, so faith, when stripped of its trappings, unveils its golden core. Jesus invited us to become like children (Matthew 18:3), hinting that beneath life’s artifices lies the simplicity of true trust. If religion would “remove the dross,” it would show its irreplaceable essence: not which denomination is superior, but whether the faith frees us from fear, greed, and oppression—empowering us to live in liberty and love. This is repentance at its deepest, rising from individual awakening to a collective revival.

IV. Why Can’t the Veil of Faith Be Easily Lifted in China?

Because once the true meaning of faith is widely grasped, people will no longer fear authority, follow the crowd unquestioningly, sacrifice personal well-being for collective gain, or live by propaganda. They will begin to critique injustice, seek higher purposes, and redefine success, happiness, and value on their own terms.

Thus the veil covering faith is no accident but a deliberate concealment by the system—yet also an opportunity granted by God for Chinese believers to awaken. When that veil is removed, true revival dawns—a hope no autocracy can endure, yet the very hope this nation needs to rise.

V. Why Speak of Faith Today?

We discuss faith not to recruit church members, enforce rules, or flaunt piety. We speak because:

  • Hearts crave authenticity and cannot bear living in lies;
  • Souls refuse to remain enslaved or become mere cogs in the machine;
  • Spiritual power alone sustains us in this stifling society—enabling us to stand firm, love our neighbors, and face authority unafraid.

True faith has never been a tool of the state but a light from beyond—an eternal way out for humanity.

May we in these challenging days worship together in spirit and truth, watch over one another, and keep the inner flame alive—until that glorious day when He returns.
